Shadowlands Beginners Guide
When you first teleport into Shadowlands you will be facing south away from the direction you need to go.
Turn and head due north and through the doors that await.
You are now in the research and training biosphere area. Take a moment to just turn in a full circle and enjoy the wonder of this training area. It truly is beautiful.
Okay snap out of it! We have some exploring to do!
To your immediate left you will find Surgeon Julia Dietzman (doesn’t look like any Julia I know!) who will tell you to wear your bracer at all times (what bracer?) and to find Drake.
Drake is located just a few steps away to your right, so let’s go see what he’s all about.
Right clicking upon Scientist Drake Rodriguez will initiate dialog. You will also gain one level the first time you do this as well as various nifty items in your inventory. I’ll not spoil your fun by telling you what Drake has to say (*cough* quests *cough*) or what the items are (bracer!). To open your inventory, press the letter ‘i’ on your keyboard or the cute button located second from the lower left that looks like a briefcase.
The bracer that everyone keeps yapping on about has magical powers. Don’t believe me? Right click it and if you’re under level 16 hold onto your hat ‘cuz it’s better than Dorothy’s ruby slippers.
Okay, I lied – below are the quest offered:
Test of Strength. Test of Agility and Stamina. Test of Sense. Test of Psychic. Test of Intelligence.
All are fairly straight forward. The hard part is finding how to open and monitor your missions. To do this press the control and the number 4 key and this will open your mission window. To read the mission description, select the mission and hold down your right mouse key.
Another important person to meet is Sundance Smith - J.A.M.E. Depot and she located at the end of the bridge, opposite of Drake. She offers various items you can buy. No freebies here.
There's a lot to see and explore in the research and training biosphere area. Have fun and take your time before heading out into the vast beyond. And I do mean vast - the amount of content this game has to offer is mind boggling and this area doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

Subject: Scientist Drake Rodriguez' Test of Intelligence Sun Nov 20, 2011 10:02 pm
This test requires you to locate a scientist that is working out in the field. Scientist Drake Rodriguez warns you she may be hard to find but gives you a couple of clues - She may be in a cave and the entrance is guarded. Your task is to give her the supplies then return to Scientist Drake Rodriguez when done.
Head north across the bridge, then west toward the large tree. Once you have reached the tree, turn south and head down the hill heading south, then east. The moment you see Assistant Brad Willis, stop.
The scientist you want is in a cave behind the assistant. Do not target the assistant, but do make sure your inventory is open and you can easily select the supplies you need to give to the field scientist.
At the entrance to the cave is an Imp Disruptor. This will kill you.
The intelligence part of the test is how to get past this monster and not be killed. **Spoiler Alert** Stop here if you wish to try this test without being told what to do. If not, what you need to do is run past the Imp Disruptor and do not stop even when it begins to attack you. The moment you begin dialog with the field scientist, the Imp Disruptor will stop attacking. Once you give the supplies to Scientist Sarah Willis the mission completes. Use your bracer to quickly return to Scientist Drake Rodriguez and avoid the Imp Disruptor. Reward: Bonfire kit.
Tip: To turn off the auto attack option, press F10 then the Behavior tab and unselect the preselected auto attack options.
